Storyboard helps craft the video into a sketched image to help simplify the action that will take place in a screen.
It helps to visualise how each frame would look like which is based, mostly, around the protagonist depicting the action, expression, etc.

It is also called Vision Board because of its depiction of the vision one has for the project.
It sets the mood and helps a person visualise, or atleast get the idea of, the final picture. This acts as a guide to keep a uniform vision of the project and helps each player in the team to have a direction to look at and not get carried away too far from the original idea.
It is perfect to refer back to whenever the project strays its path.
